The Our Time Together(R) format is based on 10-minute devotionals held 4-times each week. We believe that, for a typical family, the more individual days they meet around God’s Word the better. However, you can easily adapt Our Time Together to fit your situation resulting from unexpected schedule conflicts, limited custody, grandparent’s time, etc. Do what works best for you to achieve and maintain consistency...consistency is more important than how often you meet. You can adapt OTT to one and/or two times each week.

One OTT Per Week ­ about 30 minutes.
Combine Days 1, 2, 3 & 4 into one OTT session.
(Opening and closing prayers are reduced from 4 to 1 and choosing the words* at the close of three OTTs are not necessary).

Two OTT’s Per Week ­ about 18 minutes each.
Combine Days 1 & 2 into one session.
Combine Days 3 & 4 into one OTT session.
(Opening and closing prayers are reduced from 2 to 1 and choosing the words* at the close of one OTT is not necessary).

If you are a 4-times a week family and get behind, you can easily catch up by combining OTTs as described above. Also, do not quit if you get really far behind, wait until next month’s topic and start fresh.

*Picking the words at the end of each session provides the leader an effective way to end. This is not a critical aspect of OTT.

The following are excerpts from a recent email exchange.

Question:
Do you have anything on merging families. I am dating a girl who is a single mother of a 7 year old daughter, and I am a single father of two children, a 4 year old daughter and an 8 year old son. We are looking to be married in the future. I was looking for any material on things we can do for ourselves and the children to make it a smooth
transition for everyone.

FAM Answer:
Please consider starting our program, Our Time Together (tm), at the outset of your newly merged family.

Our program provides you with a way to impart and discuss one biblical moral value each month. It provides you with a way to communicate a unified commitment to living Godly lives now and in the future, regardless of previous lifestyles or training. Your newly merged children, and "Mom & Dad", will all be on the same "new page".

The "new page" stresses the application of Godly moral values in each one’s life and in the family as a whole. All the children will have the same set of standards, from God’s Word.

We have reduced the file size of the pdf download for our newly created free download, Only The Truth-Just for Youth. Our initial downloads were much larger causing some download problems.
